As soon as we got off the plane and dropped off our luggage at our hotel we headed to the Colosseum. It is crazy because you come out of the subway and there it is. It was one of our favorite sites of the trip. Our guide spoke English but with a thick Italian accent and it was pouring rain most of the tour so it was a little hard to understand him but what we heard was really interesting. I am glad that I didn't live in these times. I can't believe that the events at the Colosseum were considered fun family entertainment. My kids would have had constant nightmares. I definitely got more out of the Forum tour the following day because our guide was Canadian. It is amazing that these sites are so well preserved amidst the buy modern city. They were still excavating the area.

Baseball
Connor's favorite sport is baseball. He might tell you different things throughout the year depending on what sport he is playing, but, baseball is his true passion. He wants to play catch or is out pitching non-stop. He has pitched, played catcher or 1st base most of the time this season. He is getting to be a really good player. Unfortunately more than half the season was rained out. They will be making up the games but Chad and I will miss all the make-up games. Logan's coach pitch games just started last week so we will miss most of his games too. I will be sad to miss all the games. I really enjoy watching the kids play. (This video isn't Logan's best moment batting but I stopped filming right when he got a great hit and forgot to film the other time he batted).
Part Mermaid?
Ashlyn took some swimming lessons this month. She loved every minute of it. She is a great swimmer if she can do it her way. She still struggles to swim when she has to use her arms. She likes to keep her arms to the side and just kick. Hopefully when she takes the next level in June she will get it. She would swim all day if she could. She is a mermaid with her own style.
Sledding in April
I know this is very old but I am trying to catch up. One of the days Joel, Beam, Alina and A.J. were here we went up to the Snow Basin road and went sledding. The boys were in school so just Ashlyn got to go. The kids all had a blast. I think A.J. would have stayed for several more hours. He loved playing in the snow. It was a good thing we left when we did because the asphalt had sunk from under the Expedition and we were stuck. Some nice guys coming back from Snow Basin stop to tow us out. One of the guys told us that if we had been there an hour later nobody would have been around to help.
