Pinewood Derby

Connor participated in his first Pinewood Derby this week. He was very proud of his car. His car came in 1st place in all but one of his heats. He was trying to act cool but he was just beaming. He was a little disappointed to find out that he actually came in 5th place. He never raced the fastest cars. In his own mind he came in first (he wrote it on his trophy stand when he got home). He still had a blast. He is already planning his next car--a wedge (the top two cars were wedges.) I was proud of Connor/Chad's 1st attempt. Thank goodness for Google!

Happy Birthday Princess Ashlyn

I am a little late posting Ashlyn's birthday (March 20). She had a very girly day. What does a princess want for her birthday? A chandelier (picked out herself), a canopy, a vanity (handed down from one of my closest friends) and pierced ears. Could she be any more girly?? She got a lot of other princess, barbie, and girly stuff from family and friends. She is in heaven.

Ashlyn's Birthday Party

Girls may be challenging in many ways but I have to say that their birthday parties are soooo much easier. After waking up Sunday morning with strep throat I was dreading Ashlyn's party. After 3 doses of antibiotic I was able to get out of bed and throw together her party Monday afternoon. We painted nails, made bracelets, decorated bags, played pin the jewel on the crown and of course had cake and ice cream. I forgot to do half of the stuff I planned but the girls favorite part was playing with Ashlyn's gifts. They played so quietly that it was hard to believe we had 5 girls in the house. When the boys have parties it is complete chaos. Next time I am going to buy each girl a Barbie and call it good. Who needs to plan any activities? Ashlyn had so much fun. She said it was the best party she had ever had--noting that this was her first friend party she had ever had.

Logan

Logan has such a sweet heart. He and I were playing wii today and he was trying to let me win. He beat me at baseball and tennis. In my defense, all of the games we played were pretty close. When we played our second match of tennis he stopped swinging at the ball. I gave him the "It doesn't matter if we win or lose" speech. I told him I was just having fun playing with him. He turned to me and said, "But, I want you to win." I don't know what I would do without my sweet Logan. He is always so compassionate.

Connor

Connor was asked to play on a 3rd grade basketball team. He is doing really well. We were a little nervous because he has never played when the rules were enforced. He picked it up really fast. He is a great point guard and he loves to play defense.

Still Singing

I know that we are always posting video of Ashlyn singing, that is because she is always singing. She was telling jokes so we pulled out the camera and she burst into song. We tried to convince her to tell jokes but she just kept singing Sleeping Beauty's song. The other video she was supposed to be showing us what she had learned in dance but once again she started singing. It is nothing that surprises us because she never stops. When we were in Florida she started singing at a Subway. The lady thought it was so funny. She said, "Maybe one day she'll be on American Idol."--not likely with her genes.
